SEMO Tank Job PostSEMO Tank (owned by Dairy Farmers of America) sells, leases, and repairs tank trailers and offers a vast inventory of related parts for resale.Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesThis position is responsible for performing all types of tank trailer repair including but not limited to mechanical repair, welding, grinding, polishing, cutting, fabricating operations and Tank Washing.Perform cutting, aligning, fitting, and welding operations for repairs/modification or design related to new and used equipment.Perform grinding and polishing to 3A standards when requiredLocate and mark work piece cutting, allowing for welding shrinkage, stock thickness, and any other component specificationsLocate and mark bending lines, allowing machine stretching, stock thickness, and any other component specificationsLay out and examine metalwork pieces or stock to be processed to make sure that client specifications are metSet up and operate fabricating machines, such as rolls, brakes, drill presses, grinders, and shears, in order to cut, form, drill, bend, and punchPerform repairs to air brake and suspension systemsInspect, diagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance and general repairs to company and DOT standardsRead and interpret engineering and assembly drawingsAttend departmental training, such as safety and equipment trainingHandle, position, move, and install materials using arms and hands and manipulating thingsApply sufficient strength and physical dexterity to perform duties and responsibilities of this jobAlways wear PPE and observe health, safety and environmental policiesKeep track of materials used to maintain inventory controlProperly record time spent and material used on daily work sheetsAppropriately dispose of damaged materialsLabel and store salvage parts for future reinstallationMaintain a safe, clean, and orderly working areaFurnish personal hand toolsWash exterior and sometimes interiors of tank trailers.Inspect wash tags and ensure dated appropriatelyComplete small maintenance repairs on equipmentMaintain compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding health and safety issuesPerform all job duties according to DFA safety regulationsFollow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirementsThe requirements herein are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employees, but is not a complete list of responsibilities, duties, and skills required. Other duties may be assigned as requiredMinimum RequirementsEducation and ExperienceHigh School Diploma or GED requiredTechnical/vocational school graduation, equivalent apprenticeship or work experience preferred experience in TIG and MIG weldingexperience in welding of stainless steel, aluminum, and mild steelexperience with mechanical assemblygeneral knowledge of air operated braking systemsgeneral knowledge of air and spring ride suspension systemsgeneral knowledge of ABS and diagnosticsCertification and/or License – N/AKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesAble to communicate clearly and effectivelyAble to work well with othersAble to follow directionsAble to operate required tools and equipmentAble to perform basic welding for repair and fabrication (mig/tig/stick)Able to read and understand technical manuals, procedural documentation, assembly drawings, etc.Able to perform tasks and duties without constant supervisionAble to work independently and as part of a teamAble to work in confined spacesAble to lift over 70 lbs.Able to work overtimeMay occasionally require overnight travelMust be able to read, write and speak EnglishAn Equal Opportunity Employer including Disabled/Veterans
