Receiving Clerk / Material Handler

Job Description
The Receiving Clerk / Shipping & Receiving Material Handler manages the flow of materials in a fast-paced, climate-controlled warehouse and manufacturing environment. You will handle incoming and outgoing shipments, support internal material movement to production areas, and help maintain accurate inventory to ensure timely and efficient operations.
Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against packing slips and purchase orders to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare and process outgoing shipments, including packaging, labeling, and completing all required documentation.
- Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently using appropriate material handling equipment and manual techniques.
- Move materials to and from production areas to support ongoing manufacturing and warehouse operations.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with cycle counts as needed to support inventory control.
- Operate material handling equipment, including forklifts and stand-up lifts, in a safe and efficient manner.
- Use pallet jacks and other material handling tools to move and stage materials as required.
- Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards and company procedures.
- Communicate any discrepancies, damages, or shipment issues promptly to leadership for resolution.
- Lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis as part of daily material handling activities.
- Perform material movement tasks that consist of approximately 50% equipment operation and 50% manual handling.
Essential Skills
- Experience working as a material handler or in shipping and receiving, inventory, logistics, picking, or packing roles.
- Proficiency operating forklifts, including sit-down forklifts and stand-up forklifts, in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
- Ability to safely operate pallet jacks and other basic material handling equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to receive, inspect, and verify shipments against packing slips and purchase orders.
- Capability to prepare, package, label, and document outgoing shipments accurately.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis and perform manual material handling tasks.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong awareness of safety practices in a warehouse or manufacturing setting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience supporting internal material movement to and from production areas.
- Background in inventory control activities, including assisting with cycle counts.
- Experience working in a climate-controlled manufacturing or warehouse facility.
- Strong communication skills to report discrepancies, damages, or shipment issues promptly.
- Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and safety-compliant work area.
- Reliability and consistency in following established processes and procedures.

Work Environment
This position is based in a climate-controlled manufacturing facility with an integrated warehouse area. You will work on a first-shift schedule, Monday through Friday, supporting regular daytime operations. The environment includes frequent use of forklifts (sit-down and stand-up), pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment, along with manual lifting of up to 50 pounds. The facility emphasizes cleanliness, organization, and adherence to safety standards, creating a structured and professional workplace.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ocala, FL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $16.00/hr.
