Trinity Catholic High School prepares students for life after high school by teaching them virtue and knowledge as they will need to be contributing members of society based on the Gospel message and Roman Catholic teaching. Trinity Catholic High School located in Ocala, Florida, serves familiesin the 9th-12th grades.

The four-year program of religion courses is a primary element within the larger program of faith formation at TCHS. Our mission is to graduate students that have deepened their relationship with Jesus Christ and who are prepared to faithfully live out their Catholicfaith as adults in our contemporary world. TCHS follows the Diocese of Orlando Curriculum Standards for Religion, which are aligned to the USCCB Catechetical Framework for high schools; teachers are expected to design and teach their own courses which achieve these standards. The religion curriculum is focused on the formation of virtues necessary for students to grow in their relationship with God and to understand and live the Catholic faith in the fullest depth of its expression. A religion teacher at TCHS should anticipate responsibilities that include ministries besides teaching, for example, planning and leading class retreats as part of a team, leading student Bible studies, or small groups as part of the discipleship-focused campus ministry program, helping leading student service projects or charity drives, etc. Our religion teachers work with the Campus Minister as an integral part of our student's spiritual formation.

We are currently accepting resumes from qualified individuals for Campus Minister for the 2026-2027 school year. The candidate will take on the role of spiritual leadership, pastoral care, and faith formation for students, staff, and families; promote Catholic identity across campus life. As a contracted employee the Campus Minister is bound by the contents of your contract as well as the Diocese of Orlando Employee Manual and the TCHS Faculty Handbook which both require the employee signature.

Requirements

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Create and facilitate small group formation for students.
• Collaborate with religion teachers to foster encounters with the Lord and His Church including creating and presenting lessons to religion classes.
• Plan and execute retreats, small groups, and other spiritual activities in conjunction with the Director of Mission Effectiveness and the Director of Spiritual Development.

• Foster professional relationships with students, teachers, and staff which abide by Safe Environment policies.
• Communicate Campus Ministry events with the school community.
• Coordinate school liturgical events.
• Organize monthly social events for students.
• Assist in lunch duty and Campus Ministry room supervision.
• Visible presence among students in student areas.
• Other duties as assigned by Administration.
• Coordinate Campus Ministry monthly presence at student activities such as sporting events, dances, concerts, etc.
• Coordinate seasonal liturgical decorations with facilities manager and campus ministry staff.
• Work with assigned grade level teachers to develop service-learning model concepts and aid in classroom dialogue as the model develops.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Applicants must be a faithful practicing Catholic.
• A Master's level degree in Theology is preferred; relevant experience may be substituted for some education, so long as the applicant demonstrates a strong background in theology. A non-degree-related catechetical or theological formation may also be considered.
• Prior experience teaching religion at the high school level is preferred; teaching experience at other grade levels or in other subject areas will also be considered.
• Valid Florida teacher certification or eligibility to be certified is considered a plus.
• Employment is contingent on the applicant passing a full background check.
• Upon employment, the individual will be subject to a 90-day probationary period.

Requirements

• Stay abreast of current research and educational best practices, including catechetical and theological best practices, by evidence of pursuing continual professional development.
• To show competency in using technology and provide instruction in person and/or virtually.
• To observe the school calendar and be available to students and parents which includes before and after school.
• To attend faculty meetings, department meetings, and other school meetings as necessary.
• To meet the yearly expectation for professional development and spiritual growth.
• To assume responsibility for the order and discipline of students in and out of the classroom.
• To cooperate fully with the school's religious and or faith formation activities.
• To make all reports as required in a timely manner for administrative purposes and student attendance.
• To exercise proper supervision and care of all furniture, electronic devices, books, supplies, equipment, rooms, and buildings entrusted to use.
• To observe professional ethics, dress and maintain confidentiality in dealing with administrators, faculty, students, parents, and the public.
• To be present at faculty retreats, Open House, Back-to-School Night, the graduation ceremonies, and any other school-sponsored activity that is a part of the life of the school.
• To work collaboratively with colleagues to plan and develop school-wide initiatives that include but are not exclusive to instruction, assessments, textbook/Ebook adoptions, etc.

Communication

• Responds to phone, email, and in person inquiries related to Campus Ministry.
• Actively works with the Director of Mission Effectiveness to determine appropriate communication for Campus Ministries activities within the school community.
• Regularly communicates about campus ministry activities to the Director of Mission Effectiveness and seeks feedback about programming efficacy.
• Informs the school community (students, staff, and parents) of campus ministry opportunities, goals, and results.
• Keep parents informed of campus ministry activities through the school website and periodic email blasts.
• Sets annual goals and objectives for campus ministry programs in collaboration with the Principal and Director of Mission Effectiveness.
• Share Campus Ministry Events with those managing social media.

Campus Minister - Community Outreach

• Organize up to 4 school-side donation drives per year.
• Cultivate relationships with community partners for volunteer/service opportunities (i.e., Brothers Keeper, Wears Gloves, etc).

Campus Minister - Faith Formation

• Develop themes and organize small group discussions with students.
• Coordinate and execute a yearly women's retreat for girls.
• Coordinate and execute a yearly men's retreat for boys.
• Oversee small prayer groups for students (possibly led by peer ministers).

Campus Minister - Liturgy

• Plan the execution of school liturgies and special liturgical celebrations.
• Plan of prayer services for students.
• Plan monthly liturgical service for faculty.
• Communicate with clergy regarding services in the TCHS community.

Campus Minister - Retreat

• Plans student retreats for all grade levels to include all aspects.
• Communicate with parents about retreat and provide information.
• Provide forms, as needed, for permission.
• Contract with venues and services as needed.
• Develop a service-learning model and work with campus ministers to facilitate concepts.

Requires an appreciation and respect for the Catholic Church and its teachings. Physical/Mental Requirements: Requires coordination and manual dexterity, normal mental and visual ability, ability to lift as required in a normal office environment.
