Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Animal Care Kennel Attendant to join our team in The Villages, FL. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional care to animals in our kennel, ensuring their health, safety, and well-being. This role requires strong animal handling skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities

  • Administer medications and monitor animal health, reporting any concerns promptly.
  • Observe and document animal behavior and health status accurately.
  • Maintain cleanliness and disinfect kennels and surrounding areas to ensure a safe environment.
  • Assist veterinary staff with routine procedures and veterinary care as needed.
  • Manage kennel operations including intake, release, and record keeping of animals.
  • Communicate effectively with clients regarding their pets' care and status.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth daily operations and problem-solve as necessary.
  • Provide basic dog training and enrichment activities to promote positive behavior.
  • Utilize computer systems for record keeping and client communication.
  • Apply pet first aid and CPR when necessary to ensure animal safety.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Proven experience in animal care and handling.
  • Knowledge of animal nutrition, health monitoring, and behavior.
  • Ability to administer medications and provide veterinary assistance.
  • Strong skills in feeding, grooming, bathing, and kennel management.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Teamwork and collaboration with a flexible and adaptable approach.
  • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and time management abilities.
  • Familiarity with record keeping and computer literacy.
  • Certification or training in pet first aid and CPR preferred.
  • Experience with dog training is a plus.
