SUMMARY

The Thrift Store Manager position has overall responsibility for the operation of the Thrift Store, including processing, pricing, displaying, and selling inventory; managing customer and donor relations; and maintaining the appearance of grounds and buildings. The manager also handles scheduling, transporting, and receipting non-cash gifts. Additionally, the manager maintains accurate sales records, sales tax reports, and other necessary documentation, including making deposits. The Thrift Store Manager reports directly to the Supervisor of Thrift Stores. This position is not eligible for overtime pay.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following duties are examples of the work performed in this position. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Meet budgeted net profit each fiscal year.
  2. Oversee the overall operation of the Thrift Store, including:
  • Supervising all staff and volunteers, including community service workers.
  • Processing administrative matters, revenue, bills, personnel records, and advertising.
  • Maintaining attractive display and sales areas, rotating items as needed.
  • Ensuring items are received, sorted, repaired, cleaned, priced, displayed, and sold properly.
  • Maintain a well-organized testing shop and storage area.
  • Ensure the building and grounds are maintained in an attractive, clean condition, including bathrooms.
  • Maintain vehicles in good condition, clean, and with current logs.
  • Have working knowledge of all store positions to provide coverage in employees' absence.
  • Establish store hours and staffing to maximize customer attraction.
  • Create and maintain excellent customer and public relations.
  • Manage non-cash gifts, receipts, and familiarize with all receipting procedures.
  • Represent the organization positively to donors, customers, and the public, ensuring exceptional service from staff and volunteers.
  • EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

    A minimum of 5 years of management experience is required. A Bachelor's degree in marketing or a related field is preferred.

    Job Type: Full-Time

    Annual Salary: $49,000
