The Role

GTI is seeking a General Manager to oversee and manage all aspects of our plant operations in Ocala, FL. Our facilities include grow and lab operations where we manufacture and produce our signature line of products, as well as post-processing areas for inventory, packaging, and logistics. As the General Manager, you will direct all daily processes and long-term strategies for the facility. Your responsibilities include managing internal resources to maximize safety, compliance, efficiency, productivity, and culture. You will also focus on developing a professional team in Ocala, FL, working closely with your management team to ensure the facility meets all standards.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee strategic planning and vision for facility operations, including cultivation, processing, packaging, maintenance, quality, and logistics/fulfillment.
  • Manage all facility activities in coordination with departmental managers to ensure objectives are achieved on time and within budget.
  • Own the facility budget; analyze data such as efficiency metrics, labor variance, defect rates, cost drivers, volume, and capacity to recommend improvements and capital expenditures.
  • Develop reports to illustrate business trends clearly.
  • Maintain a company culture aligned with GTI's values of accountability, transparency, and enjoyment.
  • Participate in developing and implementing rules, regulations, policies, and procedures to support GTI's mission and goals.
  • Continuously improve employee skills, knowledge, and morale, fostering a positive environment.
  • Implement and maintain preventative maintenance programs for facilities and equipment; manage upgrades and repairs as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal licensing and billing requirements.
  • Be on-call to respond to emergencies, including scheduling issues, coverage needs, or human resources concerns.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions

  • Work involves daily exposure to allergens such as cannabis, tree nuts, and coconut oil.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Business; MBA or similar advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of management experience in a manufacturing environment, managing 100+ employees.
  • Experience in Consumer Packaged Goods required.
  • Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, certifications a plus.
  • Experience or exposure to horticulture, plant science, or lab processing is advantageous.
  • Strong financial acumen with P&L management experience.
  • Adaptability and a proactive attitude, especially in a fast-growing environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills at all levels.
  • High-level critical thinking and professionalism, including handling confidential information.
  • Understanding of Medical Marijuana laws and regulations, with a desire to deepen industry knowledge.

Additional Requirements

  • Pass all required background checks.
  • Remain compliant with all legal and company regulations for working in the industry.
  • Be at least 21 years old.
  • Obtain approval from the state badging agency to work in the cannabis industry.
