Director - Business Development

Description:

Grow lines of service as defined by management by developing/retaining referrals from physicians and other key non-physician referral sources.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Collaborate closely with hospital discharge planners, social workers, case managers, physicians, management, and education staff to generate referral sources.
  2. Work collaboratively with all levels of facility and division sales leadership to support the organization's mission and revenue goals by promoting service line attributes, processes, and outcomes to consumers, physicians, and market facility groups/individuals.
  3. Build strong collaborative relationships with admissions and intake teams.
  4. Collaborate with facility and division leaders to evaluate, analyze, and interpret market utilization data for service lines.
  5. Develop and implement comprehensive internal and external marketing plans to increase revenues and profits.
  6. Ensure referral priorities align with the organization's vision and strategic goals.
  7. Document all activity promptly in the company's Customer Relationship Management system (Salesforce).
  8. Analyze market demographics, including population, age, gender, race, and projected trends for patient populations.
  9. Work with division and/or market physician services, facility leaders, and medical staff to develop sales and retention strategies.
  10. Execute referral and retention strategies effectively, adjusting plans as needed to ensure quality outcomes.
  11. Close new referral sources and conduct face-to-face meetings to ensure understanding of services; follow-up as needed.
  12. Prepare and present regular reports on trends, opportunities, and obstacles to growth and retention.
  13. Manage staff including hiring, development, training, performance management, and communication to ensure effective department operations.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of five years' experience in healthcare business development.
  • At least one year of supervisory experience required.

LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Valid driver's license, automobile insurance, and access to a vehicle if required by the facility.
