The Phlebotomist will be responsible for performing venipunctures and capillary punctures to collect blood specimens for laboratory testing. Responsibilities Collect blood samples from patients using proper venipuncture and capillary techniques. Ensure proper identification and labeling of specimens to maintain accuracy. Prepare and maintain laboratory equipment and collection areas. Follow infection control and safety procedures to protect patients and staff. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in accordance with hospital policies. Provide compassionate and professional care to patients, ensuring their comfort and understanding of the procedure. Transport specimens to the laboratory in a timely and secure manner. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Certification as a Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) preferred. Prior experience in phlebotomy within a hospital or clinical setting is a plus. BLS certification is required.
