Director of Supply Chain


THE OPPORTUNITY

The Griffin Groupe is searching for talented manufacturing professionals to join our client company in the food manufacturing industry.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the materials/finished goods inventorying and purchasing activities.
  2. Direct and advise staff engaged in providing records management for department's services.
  3. Plan, administer and control department budget.
  4. Prepare reports and briefs for top management review.
  5. Develop work policies and procedures to improve work efficiency.
  6. Identify vendors of materials and supplies.
  7. Evaluate cost and quality of goods and services.
  8. Negotiate or oversee the negotiation of purchase contracts.
  9. Participate in the development of specifications for products or substitute materials.
  10. Review and process claims against suppliers.
  11. Oversee training of new and existing staff.
  12. Responsibility for food safety and quality. Must report food safety and quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.
  13. Must follow required Safe Operating Procedures (SOP's) as instructed by Management.
  14. Other related duties as per job requirements.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Bachelor's degree in business administration, commerce, economics or related administrative services is required.
  2. 5 years of experience in material or purchasing management are required.
  3. Knowledge of GMP and HACCP regulations.
  4. Solid understanding of provincial Health & Safety and CFIA regulations.
  5. Computer literacy is required.
  6. Fluency in both written & spoken English.
  7. Strong Leadership spirit.
  8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  9. Good judgement skills.
  10. Good organizational skills.
  11. Ability to function in a fast-paced production environment.
